So the game is fun great to play with kids but the problem is my level 71 got an error locked bot playable. Contacted support 48 hrs later responded need more information then responded 48 hrs later they said to delete file reboot and let them know. Did not work responded and here another 48 hrs and no response. So if you plan on playing if you have any problem expect to wait a month to get it fixed.
I played wizard 101 as a babysitter to an 8 year old boy when the game was new. The game (and it's players) have changed drastically. Many on there are now the young kids who played when the game started and are typically in college or college age. Most are not friendly, helpful or nice. Also there is an extremely large amount of profanity used in the game. There is a whole system to misspelling words to get around the filter system for cursing and it is used a LOT. Under different ownership, the game has massive game glitch problems making the game both frustrating as it malfunctions as well a waste of time. Customer support for Kings Isle is horrible and often rude, if they even answer you at all. Find a good game with a good company backing it. They also have a "no refund" policy which is why they act aloof. Once they have your money, they treat customers horrible. Prepaying for membership is like asking for a beating.
I had been playing this game from the day it came out up until midway through this year. While it was fun at first it quickly became apparent over the yeas that the company itself didn't care at all about it's players or their opinions unless these players were the big spenders. They rarely listened to ideas and only cared about getting as much money out of you as they possibly can. Don't spend a lot of money, your opinions don't matter. Updates to actual storyline were not often. Updates to dungeons that cost money, packs that rarely dropped good items, and other such items were a lot more common. Often with high, very high, price tags. Recently they'd been throwing out a lot of events that if you do the math would cost nearly 300 USD to complete. Mind you this is game mainly pointed at kids between the ages of 11-17 so that's quite a price tag on a one week event. What really sealed this game for me and why I left though was this years summer update where they very clearly didn't listen to any outcry of the players. Destroyed any and all hard work of the players, some of which have been playing for over a decade, and made the long grinding efforts practically useless. Spells that were critical to those schools of choice were destroyed and rendered useless, gear (crafted, bought, dropped) was rendered pointless, and Kingsisle didn't even care when people were crying out and saying stop. Nobody asked for this update, very few liked it, and I am one of the many long term players that hung up their wand and said enough. I am done being ignored by a company that clearly doesn't care for it's player base, throws bans around like candy, and only cares about money. While money is important, your player base's opinions should be just as important if not more.
Get bans for doing nothing apparently they have an AI flagging $#*! and its all wrong they let people make false reports never explain anything to you and of course never say WHY. Any response back from them is incredibly rude and they never answer you in any way. Theyre just trash. And the game is getting lame, a candy world? Yeah thats what killed one piece. I can only hope it does the same here.
Firstly - fraudulently takes more money from your account than authorized. Usually days after - 80c here 1.20 there. They hope nobody notices. Nice little racket, as there is no accountability in business. Certainly do not make the purchaser aware in advance. Using the banking system to their advantage, playing the numbers game in the hope the majority of customers won't notice or care. If legit in any way - declare it.
Secondly - KingsIsle will actively watch in-game chats in real time with the intent of banning accounts to the point of uselessness. (10 Year mute for example). This benefits the business by not having to ever upgrade servers, just reduce the member-base AFTER they've paid.
Filtering and chat gestapo is outdated in this day and age. Kids have access to so many other platforms to chat through. The dystopian type filtering on this site only pushes its young users to other (more risky) platforms with which to communicate.
Overall the game is outdated by today's standard. Graphics most definitely - pretty; but lacking for the subscription price. And it is only that, a subscription - other items are only obtainable through further expense as you cannot achieve them in-game - even if a full paying member.
Micro payments are anything but Micro. I buy entire games for my games console for the same money.
